Kara at the Airport

Taken with monochrome + green tint mode, slightly cropped to better align on a third.

The bigger kidlets flew down to Nanna and Grampy's today (we're driving later in the week). The plane was delayed by bad weather but luckily I had my camera with me (ok so it's rare that I don't), and therefore kept myself amused snapping piccies (lots of piccies).

The shallow DOF & side lighting on this is great. Encore! Encore!

    Why thank you Sir :)
The lighting from the nearby window was quite useful.

I love this. I'd like to suggest that if you cropped Aleks' (?) face, to bring it back. I think it would be a perfect shot if the bokeh included all the person behind.

Yeah unfortunately I didn't notice Jono standing there when I took the shot or I could have framed it better to include him.

When the plane is delayed you are supposed to keep the kids amused, David, not yourself! :-)
It is a rather lovely portrait though!

Maybe I was doing both ? Or at least keeping them busy dodging the camera ;-)

    Congratulations!

Thanks :) I'm only just now getting into portraits and the children make for great practice.

I like this a lot. I've experiemented with the B&W and colour filters in the Canon a bit and this one turned out great. Really well done!

Thanks :) I sometimes play with the colour tints on monochrome mode and like the green tint, but it doesn't always work. I think it worked well on this one though.

Thanks :) I was quite happy with my airport shots. The large windows provide some excellent natural lighting.
