This Torresian Crow was ripping apart a rotting log looking for bugs to eat. I took several photos, with and without flash, but this closeup amuses me.

nasty bird, the things I have seen them do on the land is incredible.
love that steely eye
I don't know Kev, you have to admire a bird that's worked out how to eat cane toads and not die in the process!
The eye was quite blue in most of the other shots, but this was blown out a little by the flash.
that's one business like beak ! hurrah for anything that eats those toads !!
Thanks Helen :)
Very intelligent birds these crows.
your buddys had a face lift, did it hurt ?
hehehe, I got sick of looking wonky ;)
