I caught this little sparrow and his reflection just before he flew away. These little birds rarely stand still very long, and this one refused to turn around and look at me.
This is an introduced species.

not as common as they used to be over here any more, fancy sending them back !!
You caught him Dave, That reflection looks almost wet. Nice one
Helen, I'm sure the authorities wouldn't mind if some where shipped "home" - although I suspect the Brisbane ones might have a bit of a temperature shock when they get off the plane...
I didn't notice the reflection til I got home and looked at it on the computer Kev :)
He really looks like he knows where he's headed! Very purposeful stance!!!;)
Sure was Alison, and he did, 'cause two seconds later he was gone.
if you get to send the sparrows back to England, surely we here in NZ get to send a few possums your way :)
hehehe feel free, we have natural predators here ;-)
Although you'd think by now someone would be catching them, shearing them and making money out of the possum felt made from said fur.
oh believe me we are, problem is that we can't catch up, teh Department of Consercavion is having real problems with them
You could always start eating them... ;-)
I prefer not to have my meals with a side order of TB :) You could alway do the same with sparrows, just think of the tiny little drumsticks :)
I was once in a park-facing restaurant where sparrows were hopping around the tables (most cutely!).
I declined to order the quail...
