There's a small Hibiscus garden in the Botanic Gardens, complete with a sundial (which due to the impending storm wasn't telling the time). This yellow, white and red hibiscus caught my eye as I wandered past.

beautiful macro shot!!
Thanks Maria :)
Hmmm, the uploaded version looks a little less saturated than the original...wonder if that's a bug with the uploadr?
Wow, David that's so clear, I'm impressed.
Well done, David. I've tried a few times on the hibiscus plants in our flat but have never really been happy with the results so far.
Thanks Louise, not bad for a handheld shot in the breeze. :) By the time I got to this part of the garden the thunder was starting to get fairly active and I figured I should be heading back.
David, I took several other shots of this flower, mostly showing the whole flower, which didn't really work, but apart from the added noise (from shooting at iso200), I'm fairly happy with this one.
I miss the s2 for this sort of shot, its a lot of camera in a small package, easy to take around as well. great flower and detail, good one David
I must say, the SuperMacro is definitely the best macro facility I've played with so far. Thanks Helen :)
Hmm - I can see I shall have to do more hibiscus experimenting - I guess this time not trying to get the whole bloom in the shot. Thanks for the ideas, David.
I'm not much into flowers Dave but the colour of that really grabbed me!
Same here Kev. I was actually shooting the sundial when I saw this one in the corner of my eye and had to have a go at it.
Nice shot! Love the color of this Hibiscus. I'm not able to take a good macro shot of this flower; I always get a blurry result.
Thanks Margot :)
The way I did it was to pick a part of the flower, in this case the stamens, and focus on that.
Looks great David, the colour and clarity are wonderful!
