Great Great Grandpa Morrison's Car

The front side of a postcard written by my Great Grandma when she was a young lady of almost 20.

This is the car my Great Great Grandfather bought when their horse died (see back of card).

    I know I'm suitably impressed :)

I just loved the bit in the text about being able to get to Samford in a few minutes now. Makes one wonder how long the trip was in horse and cart.

aye - them was the days.
Still made proper cars then, not like the rubbish you get nowadays.

hehehe "Aye, and we were happy then even though we were poor". (see Monty Python is useful in all sorts of circumstances)

hehehe - indeed. Funnily enough I had some pink blancmange after lunch today and I couldn't help recalling the Monty Python sketch when blancmanges from outer space invaded - The Mean to Win Wimbledon - or something like that.

They may be dated, and some of the material just doesn't work as well as it did back then, but it's still funny :)

    Hey, it's a Helen!
I must say, I don't think I've had blancmange in many many years. It's not really high on the list of things we eat.

Well actually I thought it was yogurt when I chose it from the puds on display at the canteen :-)
It had plenty of strawberries on top so it was also edible as blancmange ;-)
