Well done David. In my offical role as Fire Warden / Marshall for my previous office, I'd say you did the right thing.
:-) I figure when you have 6 acres of bushland for a yard, and back onto a couple of thousand acres of national park, one doesn't take any risks with fires, regardless of how far away from home they are (this one was about 4 kms down the road).
