
In the Botanic Gardens. I have no idea what sort of flower this is, but it was pretty.
Taken near the two small ponds in the Botanic Gardens quite close to the river.
Update: It appears to be a Dietes Iridoides or Butterfly Iris. A drought tolerant species of iris.

I've got some of these. They sell them as Louisiana or swamp irises. They do well in the wet tropical highlands where the big irises won't grow. Shell ginger likes it here too.
Thanks Sarah, Brisbane is sub-tropical/temperate and this was growing next to a pond so it all sounds pretty right to me :)
