I love all the lights in this photo...great capture. I lived near Samford (Draper) for seven years but never actually went to the show....but your photos make me wish I did.

Beautiful fireworks and you managed to get the Ferris Wheel on the photo too.
David de Groot said: It's a nice little show, that's for sure. No-where near as busy as the Ekka but still enough to do and see for a few of hours, and the fireworks are pretty decent for such a small show.
Yep, I'm quite happy with that :)

Nice work David.
I hope to make it along to the nest Meetup, I feel like I'm missing out.
David de Groot said: You are missing out ;-)
In more ways then one, I dragged Martin and Heidi back to our mountain retreat and we sat around on the veranda drinking beer, eating chips and later I cooked up a storm Moroccan style before we went back down to the show for the fireworks.

Oh boy! Three photographers in the house and none of them thought to photograph the food!
How did that happen?
David de Groot said: D'oh! Ummm, we ate it too fast too consider photographing it... that goes for the Mexican Garlic Prawns on Spanish rice I cooked last night too...
Thanks Margot :) The other fireworks shots weren't bad too, but I just chose two to upload.
Quite so... too busy eating... either that or the beer intake earlier dulled the photographic senses.

The Moroccan style food was very delicious and I guess that's why no one considered taking any photos while eating.
Thank you David :-)
David de Groot said: Thanks Heidi :)
Wasn't bad for something just thrown together on a whim.

That is a spectacular picture david! do you think there'll be more firework shows coming around? do let me know : )

Sure are. The Ekka is coming and they usually have nightly fireworks displays (from memory, it's been a long time since I last went).
But more importantly, the Riverfire event is coming on the 1st of Sept. Fireworks along most of the inner city river section and usually a couple of F-111 fighter bombers doing a dump & burn fly past. Quite spectacular stuff and the most fireworks you're likely to see in Brisbane at the one time.
