
While walking through Southbank Parklands today I took the rainforest walk and came across these fan like palms.
This particular leaf was nicely backlit and begging to be photographed.

these sort of palms sell for rather a lot as houseplants, well similar if not identical anyway! rather nice with the light coming through, what a nice place to walk !
And what's even better is it's so close to the city - I've geotagged it and put a map link above.
These palms grow natively here - they're still relatively expensive at a nursery but probably nowhere near as much as in the UK.

From a real palm tree nut looks like Livistona Australis.
Mind you for me nothing can beat the Licualas of FNQ.

Thanks Ian, I used to be a bit of a palm head myself several years ago but have since forgotten a lot of that.
