A well known Excalibur on the Gold Coast. This one met us at the Gold Coast Intl. Hotel for a photo shoot.
Excalibur is linked to Studebaker through B. Stevens, the industrial designer who worked with the Studebaker marque for many years and is responsible for the Lark and Cruiser designs. When Studebaker closed he continued with car designs and eventually founded Excalibur, producing these uniquely "retro" cars during the 1970's and 1980's.

this is rather funky, yeah I like this one,not that mad about cars myself, we've had loads but always new as hubby is in the motor trade, my son likes cars- but mainly the sporty fast type !
my dad had more cars than he had hot dinners....
Grandpa on my Mum's side had something like 80 cars during his lifetime, and was a mechanic for some 40 years or so. It's from him that I have my fascination with classic cars (and own one of the ones he and my Uncle restored).
I do tend to find these car club outings a bit on the disappointing side now (compared to the South Australia club runs), esp. since I've taken an interest in 4wd'ing, but the odd one isn't bad, and this outing was important to the club - there's another on the 11th of Nov which I'll make an effort to attend.
you will have to try different ways to photo the cars to keep it interesting, like lying on your back ! might get some strange looks of course......
we flickr-ites are used to strange looks by now, aren't we ?
My eldest daughter has written me off as a hopeless case already ("Daddeee - you'll photograph anything, won't you" sort of thing).
Helen, yes, I do that every now and then, not yesterday, this cold I've got at the moment is running me down somewhat, so I'm avoiding getting up and down type movements.
David, most definitely! At the first flickr meet I went to, my lunch turned up and was immediately beset upon by four photographers (including myself) to the bemused looks of the staff. In fact one of them asked us why we photographed the food (presumably thought we were restaurant critics or somesuch).
Lol !! i hope you feel better soon then, colds can be so nasty, haven't thought of taking many pixs of food , I'm more of a scenery type myself, still I could arrange the lettuce to look like fields, what could I have for hills ? broccoli would make excellent trees.... this could be the start of something....
Fabulous looking car David!!
