Eastern Water Dragon

at the Cafe, Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens.

My cousins were all freaking out about the large lizard (they're mostly girls - the cousins, not the lizard), but I got as close as I could without scaring it off to take some photos.

    I just love these guys! I've noticed that there seems to be at least 3 different varieties - the light brown, brown and green. Did you try to feed it something?

    I believe they're all the same, just differences in sex and age, and season. This one was moulting.

    Nope, this one was in the "wild" (as much as the botanic gardens cafe could be classed as wild anyway).
