I'd stopped momentarily to wait for some golfers to play through and spied this Masked Lapwing nearby, so hefting the 400mm at it, I snagged this shot.

Wonderful bird! But this particular specimen seems to be a bit shy though, since it looked away :-)
The can be noisy in the middle of the night whilst we all try to sleep; I like their face colouring which looks like they're wearing a carnival mask.
You also reminded me that I took a similar shot last year on the bigma's first day out which I'll post.
