belting it out at the Caloundra Music Festival last weekend.
I worked as one of the official festival photographers last weekend, 2.5 days shooting, 3700+ photos, 80+ Gb.
Brilliant acts, well organised and family friendly. If you're anywhere near Caloundra next year around this time, make sure you go!

Excellent, excellent music shot Dave. Well processed, excellently done. I do love a good live band and photographing them, I've just never got around to doing it more!
Great shot David and congrats on the gig.
Very good capture, the emotion really carries over.
That's one cool gig, covering a festival. Interesting that they kept it family friendly, as most festivals aren't exactly affairs to take the kids to.
I hope we see more soon.
Moving shot David - well done.
Nice shot Dave, Diesel would be happy with that one.
wow great image.. great focus..

An action portrait! Great shot!
awesome dave.love the sweat on his head.did you wear ear plugs?
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/aramisfirefly] Yeah I'd never done any before this (excepting one folk band many many years ago in a pub with awful lighting, using the 400D + 50/1.8).
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/out-and-about] Had an absolute blast Michelle. :)
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/unrelatedpatterns] I think that's what makes this festival so good, it is indeed family friendly and as such the acts can actually play decent music without the need to rely on profanity.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/smreid] Thanks Stephen, I think I've nutted out this gig photography thing, interesting backgrounds with great emotion.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/steves_life] Alas, didn't get to ask him. I suspect he wasn't staying on site as I didn't see him coming and going like a lot of the other musicians.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/kth_friend] Thanks!
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/66776142@N06] 'tis the way to go at a festival, you want to portray the feel of the performance in still images.
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/andrew73] Absolutely wore ear plugs. The photographers pit is right in front of the stage and half full with speaker stacks half the size of a mini minor. Without earplugs you'd have hearing damage within two minutes, easily.
As for how to get the gig, I was invited to apply.
Superb !!!
gorgeous shot
I'm surely liking it hard
added to my favorite
Yup .... You rocked it....
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/39071041@N02] Thanks!
[http://www.flickr.com/photos/37477555@N03] Not as much as Diesel did ;-)
great catch :)
