Super nice predawn colours Dave
David de Groot said: Thanks Kath - I was poking around for something to post as I haven't been out shooting in a while, and came across this one from way back, all alone and forgotten, so I gave it a bit of a spit'n'polish and here it is ;-)
David de Groot said: Thanks Matt :)
About 1/2 hr later it rained I think... 'twas a while ago.

Nice shot Dave - coulda sworn I saw your riverfire photo on a dell kiosk wallpaper today too. The one with the fireworks going off and the F111 across it that is on all the billboards.
When I went past again though, it was changed to a similar shot without the fireworks, so perhaps it wasn't yours (But yours is very iconic!).
David de Groot said: I bloody hope not, they haven't paid me anything for it's usage.
But yeah, it's likely another shot.

Takes me back, nice one, I'm planning a trip down here soon, I don't have that 'classic' shot yet.

Great picture! Refreshingly different to the usual blue-sky shots everybody else (including me) usually takes :-) I like it!

Good one Dave, better than I managed on that trip. God I was cold that morning (no jacket!)
David de Groot said: It's a tough shoot, as you know. Worth another visit at some stage though - wouldn't love to do it with a TS-E lens. Damn work! ;-) Indeed Simon :) It rained a bit later. We were fairly lucky in the wee hours (no cloud), but it definitely came across just after dawn. 'twas a wee chilly - glad I was sufficiently rugged up :)
