Creek's Up

Taken at the lowest bridge I need to cross on Cedar Creek Rd. This was almost dry two days ago, just a wee puddle and no flowing water at all.

Ironically, there was going to be a meeting of the local farmers and residents about the creek levels tonight (lowest in 50 years - or it was until last night anyway).

This is eight shots stitched together. Not bad since I had to hold an umbrella in one hand and camera in the other.

No, quite surprisingly we had something like 76mm of rain (3 inches) on the mountain upstream from us last night.

I haven't checked our rainguage out the back yet though.

That's quite a bit! I don't think we had any rain at all last summer!

It was looking that way here too, but at last the rains have come (looking out the window, it's still raining).

Must have been higher at some time, there appears to be a piece of red plastic on the side just above the under road drain pipe outlet.
A good stitch job viewed large David

Kev, it's hard to see in anything but original size, but that's a traffic cone that some mischievous person has left there. I don't think this went under last night or today, since there wasn't any signs of overwash on the bridge. However, if we'd got the same rain again today it most definitely would have.

wow....i love a nice bit of irony :)

dont mind a good stitching either, or some rain, we had 100mm in 24hours near heree last weekend!!

our catchmnet area caught the first good bit of rain in months..nice to see some green returning

Good to hear Richard! I suspect this rain up here missed the main catchments, but surely the smaller North Pine Dam must get some run-off at least.
