Coolest Present Ever!

Hand made wooden fountain pens made for us by a good friend in Adelaide.

The top one is Royal Ebony, and the bottom Cocobolo (a type of Latin American rosewood).

You can keep your Monte Blanc's, these are one of a kind custom made :)

    Looks really good David - very smooth light but wicked highlights on the wood and metal. Sometimes simple just works!
    If you keep experimenting please put more up as the grain and colour in these looks fantastic - I'd be interested to see different takes on them.
    Great backdrop BTW - very effective.

    The backdrop is a book called "Great Southern Land - The Maritime Exploration of Terra Australis", which was a free book from the Govt, believe it or not.
    I wasn't entirely happy about the highlights, thought they were a bit harsh, but hey, it wouldn't be the first time a photo I thought was mediocre was thought to be quite good by others.

    But seriously - yep, lost the pen dent in the finger and everything (I think it took a good 10 years before it was completely gone, though!)
    And its OK - the giver knows exactly what we are like and is basically just as bad. What else can you say about someone who gave us the item on the top of our wedding gift list - a scanner? ;)
