Four cockatoos sitting on a fence.
These guys were part of a much larger flock (about 30 or so birds) that were grazing on both sides of our road. Most flew off into the paddock on the other side of the fence, these four stopped for a short while on the fence and I managed to snap off a shot.

How wonderful!!
my uncle lives in NSW and he gets flocks of these in his garden, well 8 acres is a bit more than a garden but they come up to the house, would like one for a pet!
We've got 6 acres, but the flocks tend to congregate down the road abit in the open (or land is all native bush/forest).
On the bright side, this means most of the harsh squawking is not quite as loud, and we tend to get the more reclusive (and harder to photograph) yellow-tailed black cockatoos (which seem to prefer the more wooded areas).
Wow I can only dream of acres, we did have an acre when we lived in suffolk but here in Dorset we are down to 1/3 and thats good for round here! My uncles is bush also although he is only 12 miles from sydney, I know that bush fires are one of his concerns, must be great, cheers and thanks for sharing
