That reminds me that I took a couple of these shots... must post them.
Good wing spread with the light coming through.

This would be a keeper for me David. Excellent work. Even the feathers are symetrical and the light through them looks awesome.
David de Groot said: Well the head isn't sharp, and it's a little blown out from the sun, however the rest of the bird is a lot better than my previous effort at panning these guys. Thanks Tim :) Bah! :P You weren't meant to notice them! Well almost... Just a shame about the head - should have stopped down more.
David de Groot said: Thanks Keith - don't look too closely at the head then ;-)

The rest of it out weighs that mate IMHO.

I think you captured the bird in a better pose than I did...

i think there needs to be more bokeh in the shot, and maybe a flower and/or baby. maybe even a cat or dog to add balance. then you can HDR the whole thing!
:-)
David de Groot said: But you avoided the blown head... (umm, you know what I meant!) Cheeky bugger! Where are you based at the moment ?

still in KL - back in august. hopefully there will be work in Bris!!
David de Groot said: Who knows ? Should be though.

Doh, I just took a photo of a cockatoo in flight on my holiday and couldn't wait to get home and upload it. You've beat me to it (and with a better shot)
David de Groot said: Holy flying carp! It's Cyron ;-)
Well post it anyway!

I don't know how I missed this.
Despite the self-criticism, it's quite a nice image; love the lighting. You've positioned that strobe very well. ;-)
By strange coincidence, one of the images at my photography club's competition presentation last week featured a BIF with similar lighting.
David de Groot said: hehehe Yeah, you wouldn't believe home much the V.A.L. complained holding that one there :P
