This was just after we setup and about 5 mins before the fireworks started.
The view is across the river to Southbank.
Taken on the Goodwill Bridge at Garden's Point, Brisbane for the Australia Day fireworks display.

Nice one David the colours and reflection are superb.
And reasonably level too - considering I don't have a spirit level on my tripod and the ground was sloped.
This is so nice, David! It's even better on large.
Thanks Margot :)
I got there just in time to get this shot before it got dark. However, at the time I took this mostly as a test shot to see if I was pointing the camera in the right direction for the fireworks ;-)
Nice. mine was also taken using a 400d with the kit lens (18--55mm), using bracketed exposure for each component image (3 wide). My fireworks images didn't turn out too well though!
Ah the trick with fireworks seems to be about 4 or 5 secs at f/10 if you're not too far away from them. From where you were you may have needed a longer lens that the kit one.
This is fantastic Dave!
Thanks David :) Not bad for a test shot eh?
LOL - yes, David, not bad at all for a first attempt ;-)
