Well I thinks its a beautiful image too. The sky is just so irresistible. I think the framing with the buildings is quite good actually! Nice is the reflections on the walls and windows.

Wonderful shot! The clouds sort of put me in mind of a sun and solar flares, but not a hot red (obviously) :)
Nice exposure too.

Great sky - looks really vertical with that framing!

David de Groot said: Thanks Greg. I frequently get up to peer out the window (and stretch my legs). Having seen the clouds I just had to shoot it. This image has had some perspective adjustment though as at 18mm the buildings on the sides were bowed in greatly.
There are very few times I don't have a camera with me - going to the movies is probably it.
The original wasn't David. I had to fiddle a fair bit with perspective correction in photoshop to make the buildings straight. I'm vaguely surprised any of the reflections came out, since I exposed for the fairly bright clouds, rendering the buildings as silhouettes for the most part.
Funny you should say that Prescott, as I figured had the clouds (and I) stuck around, they would have been red (or at least pink) at sunset, but by then the clouds had blown off and I was on my way to the train.
Thanks Giorgos :)
Thanks :) Vertical is a pretty good description of inner city Brisbane ;-)

David de Groot said: Hi Margot! Well I must say, I am somewhat surprised at the reception this photo got. I really didn't think it was particularly good, but figured I'd spent enough time making those darn buildings straight I might as well post it anyway.

Awesome sky there David! I can't believe you get shots like this out your office window, my office window looks straight onto a wall, nice if I want an abstract lol :-S
David de Groot said: Thanks Tracey, yeah I have a pretty decent office at the moment, views of the city out one side, and the river and off into the south on the other side. Crappy green tinted glass to shoot through though (not to mention trying not to get a reflection in the shot too).
