City Lights

View of the Brisbane River and CBD taken from the Goodwill Bridge.

This one I did bother to setup the tripod for. The dark sky doesn't do much for me, and the spot on the bridge doesn't seem to work as well as across the river, as such, but the coloured reflections are pretty all the same.

Taken during Day #1 of the Xenedis Visit Brisbanites Flickr Meetup weekend.

The lights on the river look funny - not where you would expect to see them. 15 seconds and no tripod - I assume you rested the cam on a railing or something then - nobody has hands that steady! :-)

    Thanks Maria.

No David, I did use a tripod for this one. The stripy lights in the foreground are a ferry passing by.

Wow, good spot isn't it...this is one of my early shots on Flickr

Yeah it's not bad Steve, but I think (and we had this conversation with Johnno on the night) that compositionally, it's better to shoot across the river, probably on an angle. Might need some experimentation....

Thanks Natasha, I see you have something similar in your stream but on the other side of the planet.

Thanks Randy :) I reckon I could do better from elsewhere, and at a different time, but it turned out ok :)

Your still a gun on these night shots Dave !!!
    Very pleasant capture.
    Peaceful.

Thanks Ian. Once again, at a different time and place, it would have been a better shot, but this is pretty reasonable for where and when I took it.
