We did the old family tradition of Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve like my Dutch Grandparents did. As such, we opened a few pressies this evening. ;-)
David de Groot said: Joel Sergent - Thanks Joel, indeed it is. The DoF wide open is soooo thin. But the subject isolation is incredible.

David de Groot said: Sure is :) Coupled with decent high-iso performance, and you've got low-light ambient lit photos without a tripod ;-)

I think someone may have opened this one a little earlier than Christmas Eve, or did you forget to put it back in the box?

Jealous :)
David de Groot said: Sure is Margot :) Merry Christmas to you :) Thanks Kath :) Hope you're having a great Christmas too! Thanks :) It is indeed a nice lens, the photo is well, just a test shot as such. Well I had to test it out :P
It did end up back in the box under the tree though.
David de Groot said: Well see, Johnno has one, I have one, it's only a matter of time then before you too get one ;-)

David de Groot said: Lets just say, Santa was very happy about the price of the dollar a few weeks back ;-)

David de Groot said: Ah well that's good too :) Macs are intuitive - you should be up and running in no time. Merry Christmas Geoff :) We'll see - it's an interesting lens to use wide-open, but has it's quirks.

Nice lens Dave. Congrats. Very Interested to see how you go with the very shallow depth of field. This is a lens I'd love in my kit but perhaps f1.4 would be enough.
Belated Christmas and have a great new year I might even have a chance to meet up with some of the Brisbane people in the new year!
