the results of 135/f2L and your friend's 300mm with f4L look pretty similar; both DOFs are great but 135 is much portable and probably cheaper too.. great DOF :o)
Yep, the 135 f/2 is definitely more portable. A really really nice lens. I muffed the DoF on this one though - too narrow, otherwise it would have been a really good shot.
