On the way to the car parts place at Keperra, I noticed a large quantity of smoke on the side of the Samford Range, up near Bygott's Road. So obviously on the way back home I had to make a detour to check it out.
As it turned out, it was a controlled burn off, being actively patrolled by rangers. I drove down the dirt road next to the burn off and jumped out here and there to take photos (as one does).
Here a log still burns amongst the burnt off bushland.

This seems to happen to you a lot Dave - it is quite common, then, burning off brush and stuff?
I swear, I had nothing to do with it ! You didn't see anything, I wasn't there, you can't prove it... ;-)
But seriously, yes, controlled burn offs are a part of living in this dry bushy land. It's either that, or let it all get overgrown and dried out and wait for the nasty bushfire.
