This is a Brahminy Kite, one of a pair that are nesting in some wetlands I visited today.

Nah, although their nest was in this tree (off camera to the left), and I suspect they did not want us there. We shot them in flight for a while before leaving them be.

Yep, although next time I need to setup manual exposure on the video with a faster shutter speed as if you go frame-by-frame the bird is blurred when it starts to move. I also need to fiddle less once the video has started ;-)

Not bad - not very wet at the moment ;-)
Saw Kangaroos and the Kites, but not much else (magpie, butcherbird and an intermediate egret).
