Börek

For dinner tonight, I made Börek, a Turkish pastry stuffed with spinach and cheese.

Recipe for Börek (Turkish Spinach and Fetta parcels) on my recipe site.

I made several modifications to the recipe in my Turkish recipe book, adding semolina to the pastry, bacon to the filling, silverbeat instead of spinach and using grated cheese instead of fetta as I didn't have any fetta.

Still worked out very well and was quite filling.

Strobist: Lit by SB-600 @ ⅛ power into home-made (small) beauty dish, held at camera left.

Lighting is spot on. Looks superb (and yum!).
How far away was your dish from the subject? What was the ambient lighting level? (overhead fluros or incandescent)
Seeing you're at 1/3 power, it (the dish) sounds like something I might consider messing around with. TIA.

I think I was holding it about 1.5 m away (roughly). I couldn't get it much closer as I was shooting with the 100mm macro and thus needed a certain amount of space to fit everything in. Power on the flash was 1/8th, which isn't bad for quick recycling, etc, and leaves room for more power if you want to place the dish further away.
Oh, ambient was an overhead halogen downlight, but I was shooting at 1/200th so ambient doesn't count for a great deal (some effect due to wide open aperture, but not too noticeable).
