Blue Arch

I came across this nifty blue arch on my walk today and felt compelled to shoot off a few frames from different angles. This is the one I like the best.

Nice David, blue is my favourite colour too! Nice angle, reminds me of a miniature version of the St Louis Arch! Here's something blue to go with it lol :-)

That was quick Tracey! I'm really quite happy with this one, especially since I used the kit lens to get it.

    Well spotted-- great composition.

Not bad for the cruddy kit lens and a polarizer eh ? Barely touched this in Lightroom either, just a slight +0.33 EV adjustment.

Thanks Beppie :) I got to the end of the path, turned around as I wasn't sure where I was going to go today and saw this.

Wow the composition, the colors (blue, white, cream) and it's so clean!! Feels like a modernist's ideal. And the way you captured the arch is just great! Makes me feel hopeful.

    Awww :)

Ah well this isn't anywhere near as large as the one in Seattle. A low shooting angle and wide-ish lens adds to the effect though.

Done Sir! I intended to earlier, but hadn't got that far.

Thanks Ron :) I must say, it was one of those moments when you take the shot and know it's going to be good before looking at the lcd review.

    Thanks :)

Thanks Holly :) I think I just found this fortnight's Aus.Photog's. comp entry.

Oh yes, this is beautiful! The white and the blue are so eye cathing, also is the composition very strong. :)

Same here... it was just a moment of indecision that had me turn around and really look.

This captures it really well, great perspective from this point of view - good un Dave!

Thanks again David :) I'm a big fan of low angle, wide shots (hanging out for a wider lens - hopefully next month).
