Australian Magpie

This magpie was drinking from a bromiliad as I was wandering past the

Stanford Grande. I stopped at took a few photos of him.

Scientific name: Gymnorhina tibicen

    But the magpie is great bird all the same. Their song in the morning is fantastic.

    Ignore the screeching on this audio sample (that's cockatoos), the bird that sounds fairly melodic is the magpie. It starts with three higher pitched whistles (of sorts).

    Nope, just the inbuilt zoom on the S2. Mind you, I wasn't very far away from him, maybe 3 metres at most.
