At the end of the night...

...sitting around Brisbane Square. I shot this one without framing, just pointed in the general direction and pressed the shutter.

Taken during Day #1 of the Xenedis Visit Brisbanites Flickr Meetup weekend.

Very nicely done. The B&W is effective. You captured her in better light than I did. Mind you, I was on the other side of her.

    another great portrait!!!

Thanks Lara - I've had some success with this technique in the past.

B&W also helps hide the iso1600 noise ;-) But I was shooting in a b&w mood at the time anyway. Mind you, the colours in yours were very pretty.

    Thanks Maria :)

Hi Ana, yep, we're getting a reputation up here ;-)

    Indeed, it was fun. :)

Xenedis: I dunno - I don't know if I can spare my husband for another weekend like that :)

Lea: You'll have to come along next time, too. :-)

Well, technically I was working then.
    Who knows for another weekend.
But, generally, I find draging the boys around to a grown up event isn't a pleasure - "stop that!", "come back here!', "put that down!"
Everyone thinks our kids are little angels, but its only because I stand there with my thumb on them constantly... which means we'd all enjoy the day more if we just stayed home :)
Another year will see things different :)

Lea: I think Dave wants a 35/1.4L, which means you'll need to sell at least one of the kids (and possibly two) to fund it.

Which one will be the first you put on eBay?
  • leadegroot said:
No, no, I have millions invested in those children - I;m not giving them up for a measly camera bit! (A G5? Hmmm... tempting... ;))

(Yes, dear, I'll go and do some more work :( )

    nice shot, david. :-)

    - i so know what you mean about taking young kids to public places .. & i only have one!! thus why i haven't yet brought smiley along with me to a flickr meetup. i'm keen to show him off .. i mean, bring him along on the next one that's kid-friendly though. someplace he can run around with great abandon & pretty much do whatever he wants as long as it doesn't involve bodily harm to other people. lol! :-D
