David de Groot said: I think you might be right. The Geminid meteor showers start this month too. Starts Dec 7th, with the peak on the 14th. Might be worth a look-see too.

Cool sounds fun not much experience with this stuff is it able to be shot with normal gear or do you need telescopes
David de Groot said: Hey Ana :) Pretty neat eh? Normal gear works well. Obviously a good equatorial mount would be better, as you could get the normal stars still, but record streaks of meteors, but otherwise normal kit will provide decent results.

Nice work David. This is almost the same angle i saw from my apartment balcony while i was trying to listen intently to my wife telling a corny joke Id heard a few times before.
The moon made me smile, not her joke. Ha. Anyway , great work here as usual David.
Did you hear the one about the....... never mind.
David.
David de Groot said: Did you see it last night ? 'twas quite bright in the sky. Who wouldn't ? Ready for the Geminid meteor show in a couple of weekends ? And let that be a lessen to you - always carry some sort of support :P I should have looked earlier in the night, would have been good to get some blue hour action (and some foreground interest). Oh well. 'twas pretty neat to see eh? hahaha I didn't think it'd be anywhere near as bright as it was - impressive really.

Good shot! I captured this event too. One of gear wishes is a eq mount for my camera. A telescope would be nice too
David de Groot said: Yeah an EQ mount would be mighty handy.
