This is the AMP Building in Brisbane.
This shot is a Tone Mapped HDR produced from three hand-held exposures, then cropped to remove the extra buildings on the sides.
In the foreground is part of the Pier 9 complex which supposedly is to be torn down and replaced with yet another sky-scraper. :(
See where this picture was taken.

I'm not a fan of HDR in general, because it can look so dead or false but this seems to be pretty good, like the reflections in the glass !

Helen, I've seen some really good HDR - Stuck in Customs/Trey does some fantastic work, but yes, I've done some really bad HDR in the past, however I've discovered that shiny things can benefit from the treatment.
Not that the original shot(s) weren't good, but it's interesting to see what can be made from the combination.
But the thing to remember about tone-mapped HDR is you really need to view them large as they can look quite odd at smaller sizes.
And thanks judo_dad1953!
One of my contacts - Andre the seal can do some very good stuff as well, but dont tell him I said so !! I still prefer his originals . I did look at this large and I do think its good as its not overdone and retains contrast. Cheers David : )
The originals are here:

wow what a difference, I can see why you altered it, I would have sent the originals to pixel heaven !! if I had taken them, no offense meant there btw, just shows what can be done ! goes off suitably impressed ....... !!!
No offence taken :) I saw the building and thought, that'd make a great photo, but it'll never come out just as I see it, so opted to try the HDR route.

What is teh building in the glass?
This is an excellent architectural portrait.

The reflection is of the Riparian Plaza, Brisbanes tallest building.

I didn't know you could do HDR from hand-held shots - I assumed they had to be exactly the same apart from exposure, therefore on tripod.
Nice shot - interesting building.
Image Stabilisation is your friend :) That and the AE Bracket mode, coupled with a nice firm and steady grip, and finally the Align Images setting in Photomatix :)
Well, HDR is not really my thing usually, but I think it is something I shall have to try !
