Really great colours in this, especially in the actual web.

Get bored waiting for the echidna?
David de Groot said: Thanks :) The sun was just at the right angle. :) Ah Mr Echidna was no-show today. I heard some rustling in the undergrowth butt couldn't spot him, so I climbed up the creek in search of an interesting composition.

Good use of angle in this as it shows a rainbow in the web

Very cool shot. Almost abstract but still recognisable adds a lot of interest. Lovely colours.

Stunning, amazing that you have captured the colours so well
David de Groot said: Thanks Mitch :) Yeah it is somewhat abstract. Combination of angle, subject and DoF makes it look like that. It really stood out. I was trying to get a good composition of our creek bed, but noticed this web shining out like a jewel, and quickly changed lenses.

I like this one Dave. 400mm wow. How far from the subject were you?
David de Groot said: Thanks Warwick - I guess I was between 5 and 10m from it. This shot is cropped to portrait orientation from a landscape orientation shot.

I can see I'm going to have to come and visit one day and go on a 'macro' hunt! Nice shot.

You would be most welcome to come visit, Michelle. :)
Come visit accompanied and I can set my horde to work at entertainment.
I might even be tempted to make some scones - if this heat ever breaks!

I've taken a shot similar while bush walking once. They are amazing when you see all the colours.
