Albert St Uniting Church

...nestled amongst the much newer but much uglier buildings. Really needs to be seen large for the full effect.

This is my best shot from today, I love the 3d like feel to it and the bold colours. Taken with the 18-55mm kit lens and using the Clear PictureStyle www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/picturestyle/file/index.html

I took a photo of this church earlier in this year - you really have to get up close to it and contort yourself to get the newer buildings out of the shot.

I like the blackness and bleakness you give to the towers in this shot, especially the left hand Suncorp one.

Either that or resort to painting out the newer buildings in photoshop (or equiv).

I was testing out a new "PictureStyle" setting on the camera, it makes the colours pop and the shadows are a lot deeper. Makes for an interesting photo - almost film like.

    Nice - who needs Velvia?

Looks like a huge Lego™ model.
  • David de Groot said:
Indeed, and a lot less expensive than Velvia too ;-)

I'm quite surprised with the optical illusion, straight out of the camera, no tilt/shift type photoshop effects or anything.

    Nice shot David.
I was trawling around all my contacts photos and stumbled upon this one.
The church is beautiful inside too. I had my wedding there in 2001.

Thanks :) I've not been inside this one.
Wandering around St John's Cathedral though is quite interesting.
