    Hi David,

    Pretty amazing building....nice.
Do you scan negatives or prints (just curious).

Thanks Ned - the top of the clock tower on city hall is well worth the trek up there, although methinks nowhere near as impressive as it would have been, say, 30 years ago.

It's that sort of building Jill. I've taken a few pictures of it, from different angles, and it always seems to have that quality. :)

Negatives Peter. I'm using a borrowed Nikon Coolscan II (LS20). It's an ancient scsi-ii model and only works in Windows 95/98 or earlier, or in my case under Linux using the SANE scanning package. Thus I boot into a linux install specifically for scanning, then reboot into windows to crop, straighten, etc.. Bit of a hassle, but at least I can now scan negatives :)

Scanning can be a hassle eh!
Going to get a scanner that can do transparencies soon.

Reminds me of SIMCITY original, where the roads would flatten around the buildings. Great view.

This one only does 35mm, I imagine you'll be wanting something a tad larger (6x6 at least).

hehe I haven't seen that game in many many years.

    I love the color, David.
  • David de Groot said:
That's an artefact of the scanning process Margot. It's really b&w film, but the scanner sometimes chooses to tint them a bit. I generally don't bother correcting it unless it's really bad.

I think you've shown us this building before - at least I seem to remember is nestled away down hidden amongst the skyscrapers.
    Again, great perspective.

My Dad would be interested to see this - he also shoots Ilford B&W on one of his cameras.

    I have indeed David :)

I quite liked the grainy results I got with the HP5+ in Rodinal, and will likely give a couple of other B&W films a go too. Greg has suggested Fuji Acros 100 for the next one, although I've got a roll of colour fuji superia in the camera at the moment.
