Well I was wandering along the river having a wonderful time when I spotted this forkin' beauty and couldn't just leaf it there :)

Glad you liked it, this new fork distraction seems to have some merit.

won't be long before the ants take it away to use in their nest.

First, I will say that the execution of this shot is great. And I can see hints of your fall season too, that's a change.

Now, let me be silly - when I first saw it I was wondering what meal you'd cooked up for dinner : )

I can just imagine the ants toiling away to make this into a massive onager as some means of ant domination...

Well to be fair Melissa, it was shot in the botanic gardens which contains some non-local trees that do tend to change colour and drop leaves (not that the local trees don't drop leaves - they do that aplenty).
hehehe - Grass and Leaf Salad ;-)

Hey, what are you doing to us?! First you made us sad with the booty thing and now this. You are playing with our emotions here...and we're loving it. :o)
  • David de Groot said:
    ha ha Tim :^)

Glad you liked it Margot :) And yes, I'm toying with emotions for fun and profit ;-)

Perhaps the Knife (wife) threw him out because he got caught spooning with another fork!

That's my quota of comment puns used for this week then.
  • David de Groot said:
Hmmm, maybe... of course this being more of a plastic splade than a pure fork, maybe it's the bastard child of a knife/fork/spoon love triangle, spurned by fork society and forced to live amongst the blades of grass ? ;-)

haha....Ive only ever encountered the domesticated fork myself. Although, I have a few forks that I think should be out in the wild. :-))
  • David de Groot said:
This one must truly have been wild, as the next day it was gone, presumably moved on to wherever wild forks go overnight.
